Dr. Melanie Penner Dr. Penner is a developmental pediatrician and senior clinician scientist at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. Her clinical and research work focuses on autism, with a particular interest in improving service delivery for autistic children and youth. As the lead of the ECHO Ontario Autism Program, Dr. Penner has been instrumental in expanding Ontario’s diagnostic capacity for autism, reducing wait times and increasing access to therapies. Her dedication to amplifying autistic voices drives her mission to improve understanding and care practices for neurodivergent individuals.
Moira Robertson Moira Robertson brings a deeply personal and professional perspective to the conversation. As a late-diagnosed autistic woman, Moira is passionate about enhancing quality of life and understanding for autistic individuals. She has co-authored resources for Aide Canada, contributed to numerous conferences and community settings, and works closely with youth advisory councils. Her experience spans a variety of Child and Youth Care settings, where she has supported neurodiverse children and youth, including at summer camps. Moira’s advocacy emphasizes practical strategies to empower neurodivergent individuals to thrive.
Maddy Dever (they/them) Maddy Dever is a non-binary Autistic advocate whose work spans policy reform, education, and community support. As the President and founder of Autistic Bridge Inc., and Co-Vice Chair of Autism Alliance of Canada, Maddy is a trailblazer in advocating for the inclusion and acceptance of Autistic individuals and people with disabilities. Their contributions to research, policy, and community initiatives ensure that Autistic voices remain at the heart of decision-making. Maddy’s insights offer a bridge between lived experience and actionable change.
