Hello, Camp Kirk Community!

I am thrilled to take on the role of Camp Director, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have the support of the fantastic Camp Kirk team. I am certain that this transition will be a wonderful one, centred around the experiences of our amazing campers and their families.

Let me share a bit about myself – my career has been a journey dedicated to creating inclusive and nurturing environments where every child can not only find a place but truly thrive. My heart resonates deeply with a commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, and I’m excited to carry this commitment into the inclusive and welcoming practices of Camp Kirk.

Originally hailing from the charming Steeltown, better known as Hamilton, ON, my adventures have taken me to Winnipeg, Niagara Falls, Vancouver, and now to the vibrant heart of Toronto. I share my life with my husband, Jason, and our two incredible children – though one of them insists he’s a teenager and not a child! In my downtime, you’ll likely find me immersed in a good book, tuning into true-crime podcasts, or indulging in a rewatching of The Office.

I am genuinely bursting with excitement to dive into the incredible work and community that is Camp Kirk. Meeting parents, campers, and staff is an absolute highlight for me, as together, we continue to empower neurodiverse children and youth. Let’s embrace differences, harness strengths, and journey towards unlocking the full potential of every camper. I can’t wait to embark on this adventure with all of you!

Warmest regards,

Kristen Jackson-Dockeray
